Terms & Conditions
Course Registration
A $300 deposit is required to hold your spot in any onsite course – the remainder of the tuition is due at least 30 days prior to the course start date (60 days for those classes with international instructors). The $300 deposit is nonrefundable and nontransferable, and is credited to the total tuition for the course. Confirmation letters, course outlines, required pre-study (if applicable), directions and lodging options will be sent when the $300 deposit has been received. PLEASE NOTE: Beginning in 2025, course deposits will increase to $350 with the remainder of tuition due 45 days prior to the course start date (60 days for those classes with international instructors).
Payment
The deposit and tuition fees can be paid by check (payable to EquiLearn) or credit card. There is a $30 service fee for all returned checks.
Course Withdrawal
All onsite course cancellation requests must be done in writing. Please email office@eli-us.com to notify us of your cancellation. Refunds are only given (minus the $300 deposit) if cancellations are made at least 30 days before the start of the course. No money will be refunded if the student withdraws from the course within 30 days of the course start date (60 days for courses with international instructors). You may sell your spot to another individual (providing that person has met the course prerequisites) as long as you notify our office. You may not apply your cancelled tuition toward a future course. As a reminder, the $300 deposit is nonrefundable and nontransferable – no exceptions.
For our online distance study courses, once the course material has been sent electronically, no refunds will be provided. No exceptions.
Students must attend all onsite days of a course in order to receive credit and be allowed to submit the externship. No refunds will be given if a student is unable to complete a class, and the tuition may not be applied to a future course.
Course Cancellation
In the rare event that EquiLearn cancels a course due to natural disasters, instructor emergencies or other situations beyond our control, we will refund your $300 deposit and any monies paid toward the remainder of the tuition. If a course is cancelled due to insufficient registrations, we will notify you 28 days prior to the start date of the course and refund your full paid tuition, including the $300 deposit. Refunds are processed when a student has resolved all financial obligations against their school debts, if applicable. Refunds are processed within 14 days after the student’s account reflects a zero balance.
Travel Policies
We suggest you wait to make your travel arrangements until 28 days before the course starts, or once the course has been confirmed as going forward. We cannot be held responsible for any student travel expenses, whether due to class cancellation from natural disasters or instructor emergencies, or whether the student chooses to withdraw from the course. In the case of instructor emergency, we will substitute an appropriate instructor if possible before resorting to cancellation. We suggest you purchase travel insurance for travel arrangements in case of one of these rare incidents.
Intellectual Property & Copyright
All course content is the intellectual property of Equinology INC., Equi-ink Publications, EquiLearn, LLC, Debranne Pattillo or your instructor and is protected by intellectual property and copyright laws. No text, photos, graphics, video or illustrations from the course, course text, course workbook, instructional videos or handouts should be utilized for the student’s own gain (instruction, demos, social media, websites advertising). It is understood that none of this material will be made public on any website, social medial, advertising, written work or in any form of promotion.
State Laws
Prior to beginning any of the certification programs, students are encouraged to check with their state veterinary boards for existing laws of practice. A current copy of the USA Animal Bodywork Laws may be found here: https://www.eli-us.com/usa-animal-body-work-laws/.
While every effort has been made to ensure sure these laws are correct, please understand that state laws constantly change and are often left up to interpretation of the current board. EquiLearn or Equinology cannot be held accountable for any information listed in this summary. If you need a thorough review and analysis of your state’s practice act wording and exemptions, we advise you to evaluate the full text of the statute and regulations which can be found on most state government sites, and consult a knowledgeable attorney.
COVID Safety Procedures
At this time, masks are optional and will be to the participant’s comfort level unless otherwise required by local municipality laws. Please be aware that this policy is subject to change at any time depending on the COVID metrics. If the CDC deems a course location community level HIGH, the mask mandate will be reinstated, regardless of vaccination status. We understand that everyone will have different comfort levels in response to masking, and we ask that all students stay mindful and respectful about one another’s decision. Masks are encouraged for anyone who wishes to wear one and will be provided onsite. Most importantly – if you have been exposed to COVID-19 within 10 days of the course or you feel ill prior to or during the course, DO NOT COME TO CLASS. We will reschedule you in a future course.
