EQ50: Equine Anatomy Precourse Distance Study
If you want to learn more about the musculoskeletal system, this course is the perfect choice. This fully online module is divided into sections followed by learning exercises and quizzes, all supported by a downloadable 200-page manual. The first part covers the equine musculoskeletal system and terminology, vocabulary, palpation of surface anatomy and muscle location. Videos on palpating the Surface Anatomy are included within the sections.
Horse owners, trainers, riders, farriers, bodyworkers, saddle fitters, breeders, vet techs and anyone in the healthcare industry who would like to expand their current knowledge can all benefit from this course. The EQ50 is a prerequisite for many of our onsite classes, including the signature Equinology® Equine Body Worker (EEBW) certification and is often used for other school programs requiring precourse anatomy study. You will find it beneficial for any bodywork, biomechanics, lameness, saddle fit, farrier or stretching course or workshop you plan to attend now or in the future. Get your head start now!
Learn the muscle layers as well as veterinary anatomy. Understand what it means if someone says they are flexing or extending a joint or if they are abducting a limb. You will receive in-depth knowledge of surface anatomy, veterinary terminology, the muscular and skeletal systems, and palpating bony landmarks. If you are serious about a career in bodywork, this is the perfect place to start.
While this course is designed to be completed in less than two months, we allow students one year from the time of registration to complete at home. When you have finished reviewing all of the course content, you may request the open book final online exam. Once you receive the link, you must open it within one month. Once you open the link, you have four hours to complete the exam, but no worries! You have 3 attempts to pass.
The EQ50 course offers 50 continuing education hours for members of the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (Human State Certification).
After completing this course, students will be able to:
